Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the iconic story. We will be casting students ages 10-17 for this production and hope you’ll join us for this powerful story of transformation in a tale as old as time.
Why did we select Beauty and the Beast as our next Mainstage Production?
In addition to the timeless story, iconic music, loveable characters, and incredible costumes, Beauty and the Beast Jr will soon be archived by Music Theatre International. What exactly does that mean? It will no longer be available for licensing for quite some time, possibly years. This may be the final opportunity for local students to participate in this beautiful production. We are excited to bring it to the stage!
When are the auditions?
Auditions will be held at CAM on Sunday, November 17th in the afternoon. Once you have enrolled, you will be sent a link to sign up for your audition time. Enroll here
When are the rehearsals?
Rehearsals will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays 4:45-6:45 PM. (There will be three Wednesday rehearsals in December. We will begin the Mon/Wed rehearsal schedule in January.) You will only be called for rehearsals that include the scenes you are in! Full rehearsal schedule coming soon.
When is the performance?
There will be two performances on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Do I need to be enrolled in lessons or classes at CAM to be cast in this show?
Absolutely not. All are welcome to enroll and audition.. and all will be cast in the show! We are casting students ages 10-17 for this production.
What if I have a conflict with a rehearsal date?
A rehearsal calendar will be provided. Cast members are only called for the rehearsals including their character’s scenes.
Please provide any conflicts to us prior to your audition. Being in a musical requires commitment to attend rehearsals. We may be able to excuse one absence. All cast members will be expected to be on time for each rehearsal and stay for the full rehearsal time.
What do I need to do now?
Enroll, choose an audition time, and practice the material below for your audition. Sing ONE of the solos listed below. Pick whichever song is easiest for your voice. Practice each of the Audition Sides listed below. You may be asked to read from one, two, or all three sides, so be sure to familiarize yourself with those before your audition.
What else can I do to prepare for my audition?
If you would like to gain more confidence with your singing and/or acting, we offer private lessons with teachers highly experienced in coaching students for musical theatre auditions. CAM is also hosting an Audition Skills Workshop on September 28th. A portion of the workshop will be devoted to Beauty and the Beast audition material.
How are auditions “scored?”
Some of the elements of the audition we will score include Pitch (Are you singing the correct notes?), Diction (When you sing and read from the script, are your words clear?), and Acting (When you sing and read from the script are you showing emotion and characterization?)

Just relax and have fun! We keep auditions at CAM low key, supportive, and enjoyable. We cannot wait to bring this show to life with YOU!
