Seems like we were just celebrating the start of a new year, and now we’re already talking about summer. But not just any summer…an Academy summer. Our summer camps offer 8 sessions and a whole lot of fun!
We pair campers with professional artists who are passionate — and experienced — in bringing music and art to kids. We recruit these teachers because they are accomplished. Enthusiastic. And have years of teaching experience.
GLEE Camp
Ages 12-18, June 20-24 & August 1-5, 9am-3pm
Come sing and dance in the style of the hit TV series GLEE! This popular camp is back and better thanever. Our Gleeks will have fun learning proper vocal technique, choreography, stage presence and will even record their own CD! If you are considering voice lessons, an audition for the Charlotte Glee Club or just love GLEE, this camp is for you! Friends and family are invited to a special end of camp performance.
Mo’zArt® Camp
Ages 7-10, June 27-July 1; Ages 4-6 July 11-15 & July 18-22, 9am-3pm
Have a budding artist or musician in your family? At Mo’zArt® Camp students will enjoy Piano and Art classes each day! By the end of the week campers understand basic rhythm notation as well as keyboard geography. If your child is interested in starting piano or another instrument, this camp provides a wonderful jump start! After lunch it’s time for Art, as campers use tempura paints, pencils and collage to create their own masterpieces! A piano performance and student art gallery is presented at the end of camp! Note: Mo’zArt Camp can be half or full day. Students can take the piano portion only, art only, or both.
Piano Artistry Camp
Intermediate & Advanced Level Students, August 8-12, 10am-2pm
The Piano Artistry Camp inspires student pianists towards musical excellence. Some of the skills covered each day include Performance Skills, Accompanying, Sight Reading, Critical Listening Techniques and Piano Duo Skills. Students will also record their own CD during the camp! For pianists interested in a music major or minor in college, or just interested in propelling their playing to the next level! Special recital at the end of camp.
Musical Theatre Camp
Ages 9-12, July 25-29, 9am-3pm
Love to Act, Sing, Dance or all of the above? Join us for Musical Theatre Camp this summer! Each camper will feel right at home in this non-competitive environment where the focus is on building self esteem, confidence and of course having loads of fun! Learn vocal skills and choreography, design and build props, and give a special performance for family and friends. No experience necessary!
Fine Arts Camp
Ages 7-10, July 18-22
Campers will delight in daily interactive classes in art, music, theatre and dance! Each day is filled with singing, choreography and during prop-making, all for the end of camp performance. Building on each student’s budding creativity and introducing them to new avenues of art, Fine Arts Camp will be a great addition for current Academy students as well as our new friends!
