People respect those who keep fighting to stay in the game, regardless of whether they win or not. Musicians can identify.. as we know, performances are often unpredictable and don’t always go as planned. So how do we keep going? What makes us get up the next day and practice hard again? Resilience. Grit. We make some adjustments and continue moving forward.
Charlotte Academy of Music has been sponsoring local Little League baseball teams for years, and we have no intention of stopping anytime soon. There are so many parallels between music and sports.
- In both, one must learn to perform on the spot.
- If you want to excel, you have to put in the work.
- Take it one inning, or practice session, at a time.
- Failure will always teach us more than winning.
We cannot tell you how proud we were of our sponsored team, the Mint Hill Athletic Association (MHAA) Braves. They made it to the Coach Pitch Championship game after a hard fought season! They may have lost the game, but they certainly didn’t lose all the life lessons learned along the way. They kept their chins up and played hard to the very end. They showed great sportsmanship, respected their coaches, and had fun! We tip our hats to the Braves’ coaches. They are a class act and served as great role models for the boys.
Congratulations to the Braves. They certainly lived up to their name!
