Emma Hans is a dedicated pianist and vocalist with over twenty years of experience in the music industry. With a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from Dalhousie University and a Master of Music in Music Theory from The University of North Texas, Emma brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for music to her teaching.
Emma’s love for music started early, beginning piano lessons at the age of five with the Royal Academy of Music (RCM) in Toronto. She quickly expanded her interests to include vocal training, developing a deep appreciation for both instruments. This early start fueled a lifelong journey of learning and growth in different genres including musical theatre, jazz, pop, and classical. Teaching has always been a passion for Emma, beginning her teaching career in Almonte, ON thirteen years ago, then moving on to teach in Nova Scotia, Scotland, and Texas. At the University of North Texas, Emma developed and delivered engaging curriculum for over 80 undergraduate students in Aural Skills courses,
encompassing sight–singing, ear training, and music dictation.
Emma believes in the transformative power of music and strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment for her students. Whether aiming for professional excellence or seeking personal fulfillment, Emma is devoted to assisting her students in realizing their musical potential.
