Melody Wetherbee is a dedicated voice and piano teacher with over a decade of experience in guiding and inspiring vocalists of all ages. Trained under the esteemed Metropolitan Opera singer Raymond Gibbs and more recently, Dr. Randy Price, Melody has developed a rich and diverse teaching philosophy grounded in profound vocal techniques and a genuine passion for her students’ growth. Melody accepts vocal students of any level and beginning level piano students. Those interested in a combo lesson of voice and piano together will enjoy working with Melody as well!
Throughout her career, Melody has showcased her vocal talents in notable productions, including Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, H.M.S. Pinafore, and Ruddigore, as well as Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. Her performance experience not only enhances her teaching but also serves as an inspiration to her students, demonstrating the art and joy of vocal performance. Melody is excited to sing with the Charlotte Master’s Choral in the Fall of 2024 and Spring of 2025, further solidifying her commitment to the vocal arts and community engagement.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a voice concentration, Melody is well-equipped to impart her knowledge to her students. She has taught a diverse range of individuals, spanning ages 6 to 35, and is passionate about meeting her students exactly where they are on their musical journey. Melody believes that every student possesses unique talents and aspirations, and she is zealous about helping them achieve their personal goals. Her approach combines compassion with rigorous expectations, instilling a sense of resilience and determination in her students.
