Olivia Lindquist started playing classical violin in 4th grade, and since added bluegrass, folk, jazz, and blues to her playing styles. In high school, Olivia was part of the CMS All County Honors Orchestra, North Carolina Western Regional Ensemble. She also performed as violinist with the Sharon Presbyterian Youth Ensemble. Olivia attended summer music programs as well, including Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State University, UNCG Music Camp, The Swannanoa Gathering, and Creative Strings. Throughout her musical journey she has studied music theory and improvisation with Darol Anger and Christian Howes. Olivia is certified to teach the Mark O’Connor Method, however she believes in selecting a teaching method individualized to each student’s goals and interests. Olivia is currently completing her degree in Classical Violin Performance and Music Therapy at Queens University.
Olivia loves going to bluegrass music festivals and has been involved with the Charlotte Folk Society for years. Olivia is excited to be joining the team at Charlotte Academy of Music.
