[youtube=http://youtu.be/hOKuAigsrec]Thanks to popular television shows like The Sing-Off, the contemporary a cappella genre music scene has exploded in recent years. Groups like Pentatonix, Dartmouth Aires and Delilah are just a few of the groups that have found success on the show. Pentatonix will soon release their latest work, PTX2. In the meantime the group is seeing a continued growing interest in their music via their concert tour and youtube videos.
We are excited that this fall Charlotte Academy of Music will be offering a contemporary A cappella class. Students in grades 8th-12th who are interested will audition on August 31st. Classes begin on September 9th. Under the direction of Academy Vocal Instructor, Kathryn Heinen, the ensemble will perform at community events during the fall semester.
