The Academy is excited to introduce our newest faculty member, Tony Oliver-Paull. Tony is a graduate of Winthrop University, from which he holds both a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Music Performance.
Tony started playing guitar at age 13, originally playing blues and classic rock; however, in college he began studying and playing jazz. He has performed with many groups in the Charlotte area including StellaRising, Pluto for Planet, Reckless, Yellow Brick Road, Tsunami Wave Riders, and The Stranger. He has performed at the Nashville Rock and Roll Marathon, the Coca-Cola 600, Myrtle Beach House of Blues, and Myrtle Beach Hard Rock Café. At Winthrop, Tony performed in the jazz ensemble, jazz guitar ensemble, jazz combos, and various recitals. He was also the guitarist for the local productions of the musicals “Grease,” “Bye, Bye Birdie,” and “RENT.” Tony also has studio recording experience with StellaRising and Pluto for Planet.
