We are so excited to bring Willy Wonka JR to the stage as our winter production! Read below for important audition details, including information on audition songs, choreography, and more.
Rehearsal and Performance Information
All rehearsals, with the exception of tech week, will be held at Charlotte Academy of Music. Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays, January 3 – February 21, from 5:30-7:00 PM. Performances will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, Kerr Recreational Center, 11501 Bain School Rd, Mint Hill. This production is directed by Marissa Hertzfeld.
Willy Wonka JR is licensed by Charlotte Academy of Music in partnership with Music Theatre International (MTI).
Enrollment
Enrollment for the show has begun and is filling very quickly! All who enroll and audition will be cast in the show! Students currently enrolled in Shining Stars musical theatre class at CAM will receive a 10% discount on their Willy Wonka JR tuition. Enroll here!
Audition Information
Auditions will be held at Charlotte Academy of Music on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Audition times begin at 3:30 PM. We keep the audition process very laid back and welcoming! Cast members will audition in groups of 4-6.

Included in the Google Drive folder are Audition Sides (please be prepared to read for any characters in which you are interested.) Also you will find the Performance Tracks and Guide Vocal Tracks. You will sing with the Performance track at the Audition. Choregraphy audition information is also included.

If auditioning for a female role, please sing this section of “I Want It Now”: from 48 seconds – 1:14
